KPU Reviews the Dynamics of the Registration, Verification, and Determination Stages of Political Parties

Jepara - The General Elections Commission (KPU) of Jepara Regency reviewed the dynamics of the registration, verification, and determination stages for political parties as part of preparations for the upcoming elections, while also building a comprehensive understanding among all levels of the Jepara Regency KPU regarding these stages.

This effort was carried out through a sharing session titled "Review of the Registration, Verification, and Determination Stages of Political Parties for the 2024 Elections," held at the Jepara Regency KPU auditorium on Thursday (11/6/2026).

The event was attended by four members of the Jepara Regency KPU: Siti Nurwakhidatun, Haris Budiawan, Muhammadun, and Siti Suryani. Also present were Jepara Regency KPU Secretary Yuyun Sri Agung, along with heads of sub-divisions and secretariat staff.

Siti Nurwakhidatun, Member of the Jepara Regency KPU for the Planning, Data, and Information Division, stated that the activity served as a space to recall and evaluate the implementation of the registration, verification, and determination stages for political parties in the 2024 Elections.

According to her, experiences from previous election implementations are important to use as capital in facing upcoming election stages. “This activity is a preparatory step toward the upcoming election stages,” said Siti.

During the 2024 election’s registration, verification, and determination stages for political parties, Siti was serving as Chair of the Technical Implementation Division, which oversaw these stages. She explained that all technical stages are vulnerable to lawsuits and disputes because they directly involve election participants. “All technical stages are prone to lawsuits and disputes as they directly intersect with election participants. Therefore, the implementing regulations must be understood thoroughly so that our work proceeds in accordance with applicable provisions,” she said.

On that occasion, Siti outlined the flow of the registration, verification, and determination stages for political parties in the 2024 Elections, covering regulatory aspects, technical implementation, and various dynamics that emerged during the process. She explained that the registration process for 2024 election participants was carried out centrally at the national KPU (KPU RI). “After the documents are declared complete, the data is forwarded to the regency/city KPU for verification of the authenticity of the documents,” she explained.

The entire verification process, she continued, was conducted through the Political Party Information System (Sipol). “There were 33,014 political party memberships in Jepara Regency that underwent administrative verification and were successfully completed on time as stipulated in the regulations,” she said. She added that the success of implementing these stages was inseparable from the collective efforts of all personnel.

Meanwhile, Haris Budiawan, Member of the Jepara Regency KPU for the Technical Implementation Division, said that sharing experiences from the registration, verification, and determination stages of the 2024 Elections is an important part of preparing for future elections. According to Haris, the KPU also continues to provide space for political parties to update their data through the ongoing political party data updating process. “In preparation for these stages in the upcoming elections, the KPU opens space for political parties to continuously update their data,” said Haris.

He explained that the continuous political party data updating provides opportunities for parties to refresh data on management, membership, women’s representation, and the domicile of permanent party offices. This activity is carried out in two periods: Semester I (January–June) and Semester II (July–December). “In this Semester I period, the Jepara Regency KPU is also continuing to socialize the continuous political party data updating, both through official letters delivered to political parties at the Jepara Regency level and through digital content disseminated via the Jepara Regency KPU’s social media channels,” said Haris.

Separately, Muhammadun, Chair of the Socialization, Voter Education, Community Participation, and Human Resources Division of the Jepara Regency KPU, said that the sharing session serves as a means for all personnel to recall the various dynamics that occurred during the implementation of the stages. According to him, a thorough understanding of the registration, verification, and determination stages for political parties is essential because their implementation involves all levels of the organization. “The implementation of these stages involves all existing personnel, making it crucial for them to be fully understood,” said Muhammadun.

He cited the regulatory changes resulting from the Constitutional Court’s (Mahkamah Konstitusi) decisions that affected the implementation of factual verification of political parties in the 2024 Elections as one of the dynamics that must continue to be remembered. 

“These dynamics show that regulatory changes from one election to the next frequently occur due to judicial reviews submitted to the Constitutional Court. Therefore, as election organizers, we must be prepared to face such dynamics,” Muhammadun concluded.
