Mahdiansyah Wins Landslide Victory in Pulantan Village Head Election

 Paringin Kartininews.com – The Interim Village Head Election (Pilkades PAW) for Pulantan Village, Awayan Subdistrict, Balangan Regency, has elected Mahdiansyah as the new village head, replacing Supiadi.


The election, held at the Pulantan Village Office on Tuesday (19/5/2026), featured two candidates: Mahdiansyah and Sakdilah.

Based on the vote count, Mahdiansyah secured a landslide victory with 42 votes, while Sakdilah received 9 votes.

Chairman of the Pilkades PAW Committee, Abdul Hakim, stated that the elected village head will undergo an administrative process through the local government before being officially appointed.

“The elected village head will go through the administrative process at the regional government level to be forwarded to the Regent of Balangan as the basis for issuing the official Decree of Village Head appointment,” he said.

Awayan Subdistrict Head, Muhammad, described the Pilkades PAW as an important step to ensure the village government continues to run optimally.

“The elected village head will later serve the remainder of the term until 2030. We hope all stages of the election run well and smoothly,” he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Village Head of Pulantan, Muhammad Mukhlis, expressed hope that the new village head can maintain social stability and improve village governance.

“We hope the village government continues to run smoothly and the community remains conducive with the election of the new village head,” he said.

Separately, Head of Governance Section of Awayan Subdistrict, Arliyanto, hopes the elected village head can bring positive changes and improve services to the village community.
