Demak Athletes Undergo Physical Testing in Preparation for Porprov 2026

Demak Kartininews.com – The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Demak Regency held a Physical Fitness Test for athletes competing in the 2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov). The test was participated in by 242 athletes from 31 sports branches. The physical assessment was conducted in collaboration with the University of Surabaya as the examining team, at the Demak Regency Sport Center on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Chairman of the Porprov Athletes’ Physical Test Committee, Ardhito Prabowo, stated that this physical test is part of KONI Demak Regency’s 2026 work program to assess the readiness of athletes who will compete at the provincial level.

“Today, the KONI board is conducting the physical test for Porprov athletes as part of the 2026 KONI work program. The purpose of this activity is to determine the extent of the athletes’ readiness to face provincial-level competitions,” he said.

“From the test results, we will see whether the athletes have met the required standards or not. If they have not, they will be given training loads tailored to the specific needs of each sport. We hope that by the second test, the athletes will reach peak performance and win championships,” he added.

The physical test for Porprov athletes will be carried out in two stages: the pre-test on June 9, 2026, and the post-test in September 2026, approaching the implementation of the Central Java Porprov.

Meanwhile, Chairman of KONI Demak Regency, Suryo Hadi Wibowo, urged all athletes to take the physical test seriously so that their ability development can be measured optimally.

“There is a pre-test today and a post-test in September ahead of the Porprov. This is done so that we can track the athletes’ progress during the training period,” he said.

He emphasized that Demak Regency is targeting 25 gold medals at the 2026 Central Java Porprov. This target is an increase from the previous achievement of 15 gold medals.

Champion Mentality

Demak Regent, Eisti’anah, in opening the event, stressed the importance of building a champion mentality among all athletes.

“What we need to continue building is the champion mentality — a mindset that is not only about the desire to win, but also the courage to face challenges, the ability to rise from failure, and the determination to keep fighting even in difficult conditions,” she said.

According to her, a champion mentality is formed through disciplined training, sincerity in going through the process, and the willingness to improve oneself every day.

“So keep training with heart and sincere intention. Build an unbreakable spirit, instill discipline, and above all, maintain your health and fitness,” she added.

The Regent also expressed hope that this physical test would be the first step toward achieving proud accomplishments for Demak Regency at the 2026 Central Java Porprov.

Also present at the event were the Chairman and board of KONI Demak Regency, representatives from the Demak Regency Youth and Sports Office (Dinpora), the Education and Culture Office, Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office Abdur Rouf, Head of the Regional I Central Java Education Department Branch, the examiners, athletes, and other invited guests.
