Kediri Kartininews.com - Kediri Class IIA Prison participated in a Zoom Meeting organized by the Kediri Class II Correctional Center (Bapas) on Wednesday (25/06/2025). This activity discussed the technical aspects of preparing the Initial Guidance Community Research Report (Litmas) for Community Guidance Assistants (PPK) assigned to prisons and detention centers throughout the Kediri Korwil.

The Zoom was attended by all Correctional Technical Implementation Units (UPT) in the Kediri Raya area. The aim is to improve the quality and consistency in compiling Litmas as the initial part of the guidance process for Correctional Inmates (WBP). A well-composed Litmas will support data-based decision-making in the guidance process.

The Head of Kediri Bapas, Niken, in her presentation emphasized the importance of acceleration and accuracy in compiling Litmas. According to her, Litmas is not only an administrative requirement, but also the main foundation in determining the right direction and method of guidance for WBP from the beginning of their sentence.

Niken also explained in depth about the Indonesian Recidivism Risk Assessment Instrument (RRI), which is a form used to assess the potential for repeating criminal acts or recidivism by WBP. She emphasized that the RRI must be filled in objectively and based on concrete data, because the results greatly determine the individual development policy that will be undertaken by each WBP.

Through this activity, the PPK at Kediri Prison gained technical understanding as well as refresher material on the importance of initial assessments based on science and professionalism. This capacity building is expected to have an impact on the effectiveness of the development program and support more humanistic and measurable corrections.

Kediri Prison welcomed this activity as part of the synergy between UPTs in the correctional environment. Active participation in this forum reflects Kediri Prison's commitment to continue to improve the quality of development services through a comprehensive understanding of correctional assessment instruments and systems.
