Short Film "Transparent Village Governance" from Sidoarjo Regency Wins Award at the Jaga Desa Award 2026

Sidoarjo Regency received an award at the Jaga Desa Award 2026, organized by the National Association of Village Consultative Bodies (ABPEDNAS) in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia. The event was held at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, on Sunday (19/4/2026).

The award was given to Sidoarjo Regency in the Favorite Regency category for submitting a short film themed “Jaga Desa.” The film highlighted the local government’s commitment to driving village development, strengthening village governance, and ensuring transparent and accountable oversight of village budget utilization.

The event was part of the Appreciation Night and Awarding Ceremony of the Jaksa Garda Desa Program, an initiative by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia. The program aims to strengthen legal assistance, supervision, and education for village governments across Indonesia.

The Jaksa Garda Desa Program is designed to ensure that village development proceeds in accordance with regulations, hits its targets, and prevents potential misuse of village funds through continuous oversight. In addition, the program also promotes greater legal understanding among village officials in managing administration and finances.

At the regional level, the District Attorney’s Office implements this program according to the jurisdiction of each regency/city, with a focus on providing assistance, supervision, and education to village governments so that village fund management remains transparent and accountable.

The award was presented directly by the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, to Sidoarjo Regent Subandi, who attended the event alongside the Head of the Sidoarjo District Attorney’s Office, Zaidar Rasepta.

On that occasion, Subandi reaffirmed the Sidoarjo Regency Government’s commitment to continuously strengthening a transparent and accountable village governance system, particularly in the management of village funds and improving the quality of public services.

He also expressed appreciation to all members of the community and village officials who have contributed to advancing villages and maintaining clean governance.

“Thank you to all the people of Sidoarjo who have joined in safeguarding Sidoarjo together to realize advanced and clean villages,” said Subandi in an official release from the Sidoarjo Regency Communications and Information Agency on Monday (20/4/2026).

According to him, this achievement is the result of collective work between the local government, village governments, law enforcement officials, and the community in realizing sustainable village development.

“This award serves as motivation for us to continue working even better for the people of Sidoarjo,” he concluded.
