Grand Final of Batam Tourism Ambassador 2026: Arya and Keizia Win Encik and Puan Titles

Batam - Arya Saputra and Keizia Hirano were officially crowned as the Encik and Puan Tourism Ambassadors of Batam City 2026 at the Grand Final of the Batam City Tourism Ambassador Selection held by the Batam City Government (Pemko) at the Harmoni One Ballroom, Batam Centre, on Saturday evening (9/5/2026).

Arya was crowned as Encik Batam 2026, while Keizia successfully won the title of Puan Tourism Ambassador of Batam City 2026 after outperforming dozens of other contestants in a highly competitive selection process.

The grand final, themed “Proud Tourism and Culture Ready for the Future,” was officially opened by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Batam City, Firmansyah, representing Batam Mayor Amsakar Achmad and Deputy Mayor Li Claudia Chandra.

In his speech, Firmansyah expressed hope that the finalists, especially the winners of Encik and Puan Batam 2026, could become the frontline in promoting Batam’s tourism destinations and culture.

“We hope the Tourism Ambassadors can contribute to introducing Batam’s tourism and cultural potential on a broader scale, both nationally and internationally,” he said.

He noted that Batam’s tourism sector continues to show positive growth. In 2025, the number of tourist visits reached 1.6 million people, surpassing the target set by the Batam City Government. For 2026, the tourist visit target has been increased to 1.75 million people.

On the same occasion, Head of the Batam City Culture and Tourism Agency, Ardiwinata, stated that the selection process for Encik and Puan Batam 2026 lasted approximately 45 days and was participated in by 167 audition contestants from various professional backgrounds.

“After going through the selection stages, 20 finalists were chosen, consisting of 10 Encik and 10 Puan. The assessment was comprehensive, covering knowledge, appearance, attitude, and participants’ self-confidence,” said Ardiwinata.

According to him, before entering the grand final, the finalists also underwent a pre-quarantine phase by visiting several tourist destinations in Batam. They then participated in a four-day quarantine at Ayola Signature Ocarina Batam to receive training in skills and tourism knowledge.

Through this event, the Batam City Government hopes that the selected Tourism Ambassadors can become the face of regional tourism promotion while inspiring the younger generation to participate in preserving culture and introducing Batam’s potential to the wider community.
