KPK: Sukojati Village Worthy of Serving as Model for Village Governance

Banyuwangi Kartininews.com – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted monitoring and evaluation (monev) of Sukojati Village, Blimbingsari District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province, which has been designated as an Anti-Corruption Model Village since 2022.

During the evaluation, the KPK assessed that Sukojati Village remains within the anti-corruption framework and continues to consistently implement the established indicators.

“We came to Sukojati Village to reassess the village’s commitment—whether it still upholds and consistently applies anti-corruption indicators in a sustainable manner,” said Deputy Task Force Head at the KPK’s Directorate of Community Participation Development (Permas), Andhika Widiarto, on Wednesday (May 6, 2026).

The KPK team was accompanied by the Banyuwangi Inspectorate and the Banyuwangi Community and Village Empowerment Agency (DPMD).

The team listened to presentations from the Sukojati Village Government, testimonies from the Village Consultative Body (BPD), community leaders, youth leaders, and also conducted direct field inspections.

Andhika explained that there are five main indicators in assessing an anti-corruption model village: oversight, community participation, local wisdom, public services, and governance.

“We appreciate what has been presented by the Sukojati Village Government. So far, Sukojati Village has met the requirements set out in the Anti-Corruption Village indicators,” he said.

In addition to the evaluation, the KPK also encouraged the expansion of the Anti-Corruption Village program across Banyuwangi Regency down to the sub-district level.

“We hope all sub-districts in Banyuwangi will learn from Sukojati Village, so that what has been implemented here can be replicated in other villages across the regency,” Andhika added.

Corruption Crime Analyst at the KPK’s Permas Directorate, Anisa Nurlitasari, also praised Sukojati Village’s administrative governance, noting that it is orderly and consistent.

She highlighted that the village actively updates public information through social media and its official website.

“If I have the opportunity to conduct monitoring and evaluation in other villages, I will use Sukojati as a benchmark. Documents initiated from 2022 to 2026 remain accessible online, and their social media channels are consistently active,” Anisa said.

Meanwhile, Sukojati Village Secretary Mohammad Aris stated that the village government continues to prioritize transparency in public services and governance.

The administration regularly publishes various information on the village’s official website, ranging from procurement of goods and services to community satisfaction indices.

“What we have done may not be perfect, and we have also received valuable input from the KPK to improve further. We hope Sukojati can continue to maintain its status as a national Anti-Corruption Model Village,” Aris said.

Head of the Banyuwangi Inspectorate, Choiril Ustadi Yudawanto, added that the regional government continues to oversee and assist villages to ensure transparency and the quality of public services are maintained.

According to him, Sukojati Village serves as a good example of village governance practices and can inspire other villages in Banyuwangi.

As part of the monitoring and evaluation process, the KPK is still collecting assessment data. The team is scheduled to conduct a follow-up evaluation next year to ensure Sukojati Village’s continued consistency as an Anti-Corruption Model Village.
