BWBF 2026 Records Rp1.4 Billion in Transactions, UMKM Bojonegoro Becoming More Successful
Bojonegoro Kartininews.com – The closing series of the Bojonegoro Wastra Batik Festival (BWBF) 2026 took place lively at the Bojonegoro Town Square, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java Province, on Saturday (20/6/2026).
The third edition of BWBF was considered successful in serving as a platform for preserving culture while simultaneously driving the growth of the creative economy and the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Bojonegoro Vice Regent Nurul Azizah stated that BWBF represents the Bojonegoro Regency Government’s commitment to encouraging MSMEs to grow and become more competitive.
“We should be proud that in this BWBF, MSMEs are truly involved and there is collaboration with artisans and traders,” she said.
According to Nurul, the participation of exhibitors from various regions that have long developed the batik industry also serves as valuable evaluation material and a learning opportunity for Bojonegoro to improve the quality of its products and promote local batik.
She added that BWBF 2026 is part of efforts to strengthen the region’s cultural identity amid the ongoing UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) validation process that Bojonegoro is currently undergoing.
Meanwhile, Head of the Bojonegoro Regency Culture and Tourism Office, Elzadeba Agustina, explained that BWBF was held to increase public appreciation of batik as a national cultural heritage.
In addition, the event aims to expand the market for batik products while enhancing the economic leverage of the creative economy.
“Through this activity, we want to increase love for domestic products, explore the potential of arts, culture, and regional tourism, and strengthen the promotion of Bojonegoro’s distinctive batik as a high-value cultural asset,” she said.
Over the four days of the event, BWBF 2026 delivered a significant economic impact on the tourism sector and local businesses.
In the hotel and accommodation sector, 10 hotels and guesthouses recorded around 162 guests during the event. This sector generated approximately Rp175 million in revenue, with hotel tax contributions reaching Rp17.5 million.
Meanwhile, out of 69 participating exhibition booths, 60 indoor booths recorded transactions worth Rp1.063 billion.
“The total revenue from exhibition booths and the hospitality sector is estimated to reach Rp1.4 billion over the four days of the event, and transactions continued until the closing night,” explained Elzadeba.
On the same occasion, the committee also announced the winners of the Best Booth categories for BWBF 2026.
Third place was won by the Kediri Regency Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises Office, second place by the Jember Regency Government, and first place by ExxonMobil Cepu Limited.
BWBF 2026 is expected to continue serving as a space for cultural promotion and a driver of the creative economy, capable of strengthening the competitiveness of MSMEs and the batik industry in Bojonegoro.
