Mojokerto Diver Wins Three Golds at 2026 National Aquatic Championship
Mojokerto Kartininews.com – Mojokerto Regency’s diving athlete, Sifa Kartika Putri, stole the spotlight at the 2026 National Aquatic Championship (Kejurnas) held at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Jakarta. In her first-ever national-level competition, Sifa successfully won three gold medals in the KU C category for the 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard, and platform events.
She achieved this feat by outperforming athletes from traditional powerhouse regions such as Jakarta, South Kalimantan, and West Java. The success is especially remarkable because Sifa traveled to the championship independently, without any financial support from KONI or the Mojokerto Regency Government.
Mojokerto Regency Diving Coach, Ahmad Subekti, confirmed on Monday (11/5/2026) that the athlete’s strong spirit and determination were the main factors behind her maximum achievement at the national championship.
“This is Sifa’s first time competing in the Kejurnas. With her own spirit and determination, we still went even though it was self-funded and without support from the Mojokerto Regency Government. Alhamdulillah, the result is that Sifa managed to bring home three gold medals,” said Ahmad Subekti.
According to him, the journey to the national championship was not easy. However, the lack of support did not dampen the team’s resolve to represent Mojokerto at the national level. Sifa performed consistently from the preliminary rounds through to the finals in all events she entered. Her performance on the platform was particularly outstanding, as she recorded the highest score and defeated competitors from several top provinces.
