PSIM Stun Malut United, Persijap Move Further Away from Relegation Zone

PSIM Yogyakarta secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Malut United in a continuation of the Liga 1 Super League at Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, on Sunday (10/5/2026). Both goals for Laskar Mataram were scored by Ze Valente, who converted a penalty just before halftime, and Irfan, who struck in injury time.

The result takes PSIM Yogyakarta to 42 points from 32 matches, placing them in 11th position in the Liga 1 standings. Meanwhile, Malut United remain in 6th place with 52 points, level with Persebaya Surabaya.

Overall, the match was relatively even. The visitors dominated proceedings in the early minutes, but PSIM only began to fight back and launch attacks after the first half was underway.
