PT GEI Has the Potential to Absorb Tens of Thousands of Local Male Workers in Brebes
Brebes - PT Gold Emperor Indonesia (GEI) has currently absorbed more than 4,000 workers. In its development plans for the coming years, the company targets a total workforce of around 10,000 employees.
This news has been warmly welcomed by local residents. Many people hope that increased investment in Brebes will create broader job opportunities, especially for men, so that more family breadwinners will have stable incomes to meet household needs.
These hopes are beginning to show positive signs with PT GEI’s plan to expand its production capacity in Tanjung District, Brebes Regency.
In addition to female workers in the production sector, the company is also projected to require additional male workers for various operational and technical fields.
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi emphasized that investments entering the region must provide real benefits to the surrounding community, including creating wider employment opportunities for local residents.
“When investment grows, its impact must be felt by the community. The absorption of local workers must continue to be increased so that the welfare of the residents also rises,” said Luthfi during his working visit to PT GEI on Thursday (7/5/2026).
According to him, labor-intensive industries are one of the important solutions to reducing unemployment and lowering poverty rates in the region. Therefore, the government continues to encourage the development of investments that prioritize local communities.
Brebes Regent Paramitha Widya Kusuma stated that the community’s aspirations regarding job opportunities for male workers have also become the attention of the local government. The Brebes Regency Government continues to coordinate with the company so that industrial development can absorb more local residents.
“In the future, the need for workers will continue to increase along with the company’s development. We hope that local communities, including productive-age men, can take advantage of these opportunities,” said Paramitha.
PT Gold Emperor Indonesia has stated that job opportunities for male workers are open for certain positions, such as logistics, warehousing, maintenance, engineering, and other supporting operational roles.
Although the majority of current workers are still women in the production section, the company ensures that Brebes local residents remain a priority in the recruitment process according to the company’s needs.
For the surrounding community, the increase in job opportunities not only means the presence of new employment fields but also brings hope for improving family welfare and strengthening household economies amid continuously rising living needs.
