Parigi Moutong Regency's Dekranasda Uses Kriyanusa 2026 Exhibition as Concrete Step to Empower Creative Economy Players
Jakarta - The Regional Handicraft Council (Dekranasda) of Parigi Moutong Regency is using the 2026 Nusantara Handicraft Exhibition (Kriyanusa) at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) as a concrete foundation for empowering creative economy players.
On the sidelines of the event held on Saturday (9/26/2026), Parigi Moutong Dekranasda Chair Hestiwati Nanga emphasized that her region's participation goes beyond simply showcasing products. Her organization has proactively allocated a special budget to carry out a capacity-building program in the form of stamped batik-making (batik cap) training, aimed at expanding the business reach of local artisans and weavers.
This step is designed to respond to the high dynamism and competitiveness of Indonesia's handicraft market. Hestiwati explained that local artisans are now required to be increasingly agile in blending the authenticity of their ancestral cultural identity with the modern design trends favored by the market.
To ensure the sustainability of the training program, Dekranasda will strengthen cross-sector collaboration by partnering with the Parigi Moutong Family Welfare Movement (PKK) as a key partner in nurturing a craft ecosystem rooted in local wisdom.
Parigi Moutong's craft pride has long been closely tied to the charm of Saga Motif Weaving (Tenun Motif Saga). Even so, Hestiwati believes the potential for exploring the region's cultural wisdom remains abundant and awaits bolder, more innovative refinement.
Through the integration of capacity-building for artisans' resources and aggressive marketing promotion, the Parigi Moutong Regency Government aims to ensure that these local works will not only flourish domestically, but will also be able to compete and break into international market supply chains.
