Raja Ampat Regency Government Affirms Commitment to Quality and Character Education
Raja Ampat Kartininews.com - The Raja Ampat Regency Government has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality and character-based education during the Commemoration Ceremony of National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2026, held at the Ceremony Field of the Raja Ampat Regent’s Office on Monday (4/5/2026).
Regent of Raja Ampat, Orideko I. Burdam, served as the Inspector of the Ceremony and led the event, which was attended by Forkopimda officials, heads of regional government agencies (OPD), educators, students, and various community elements.
On this occasion, the Regent read out the speech of the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia. The ministerial mandate emphasized that the Hardiknas commemoration serves as a moment to strengthen collective commitment in building quality and character education.
“Commemorating National Education Day is a moment for us to reflect, reaffirm, and revive the spirit of national education,” he said.
The speech also highlighted that education is a process of humanizing humans, which not only focuses on intellectual intelligence but also on the formation of character, morals, and personality of students.
Furthermore, the government continues to promote improvements in education quality through various strategic policies, including strengthening teacher competencies, digitalization of learning, and expanding inclusive and equitable access to education.
At the event, the Raja Ampat Regency Government also showed appreciation to educators by presenting compensation through the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) Raja Ampat Branch. Each retiring teacher received Rp6,000,000.
In addition, PGRI Raja Ampat provided death benefits of Rp8,000,000 to the families of deceased teachers as a form of care and recognition for their dedication to the field of education.
Awards were also given to teachers who demonstrated high dedication and responsibility, particularly those serving in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions at the elementary (SD), junior high (SLTP), and senior high (SLTA) levels.
The 2026 Hardiknas Ceremony symbolizes the Raja Ampat Regency Government’s commitment to supporting the development of superior human resources through the education sector, while also expressing appreciation for the vital role of teachers in enlightening the nation.
