Temanggung DPRD Inspects Repairs of Six Traditional Markets
Temanggung Kartininews.com - The Commission C of the Temanggung Regency DPRD conducted an inspection of several traditional markets that will be repaired using the 2026 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), with a total allocation of Rp1.6 billion.
The inspection was carried out to determine repair priorities so that the available budget can be used effectively and on target.
Deputy Chairperson of Commission C of the Temanggung DPRD, Slamet Eko Wantoro, stated that the traditional markets to be repaired include Pasar Adiwinangun Ngadirejo, Pasar Legi Parakan, Pasar Pingit Pringsurat, Pasar Kranggan, Pasar Kliwon Temanggung, and Pasar Candiroto.
According to him, the damage in these markets is relatively similar, ranging from leaky roofs, problematic drainage systems, to damaged market floors that are considered hazardous for traders and visitors.
“We are addressing these issues so that problems like leaks and uneven floors that could endanger traders can be resolved earlier. We really hope that the market facilities will look good, comfortable, and beautiful. That way, the public’s interest in shopping at the markets will increase,” he said during the inspection at Pasar Adiwinangun Ngadirejo on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
He hopes that the improvement of traditional market facilities can enhance public comfort while supporting people’s trading activities amid competition with modern markets.
Meanwhile, Head of the Market Management Division at the Temanggung Cooperative, UMKM, and Trade Agency (Dinkopdag), Setyo Widodo, said the local government is prioritizing repairs on the most urgent infrastructure that poses risks to market users’ safety.
“There are several priority repairs, such as the stairs at Pasar Ngadirejo which are very urgent because they are the main access to the second floor. We will also strive to carry out priority repairs in other markets, especially for roof leaks,” he said.
He added that through these infrastructure improvements, traditional markets in Temanggung Regency are expected to become safer and more comfortable, while boosting the local community’s economic activity.
